It normally takes me around 5 1/2 to 6 hours to get to the Mechanicsville / Richmond area from Norton. Not sure from Richmond to Raleigh.
How long of a trip is it to richmond, and then from richmond to raleigh??

My best guess would be about 2 1/2 hours to Raleigh from Richmond

2 1/2-3 should do it....be prepaired Raleigh is the worst traffic in North Carolina, and worse than you have ever seen like in Knoxville or somewhere.....

Memphis by far the worst place I've been to drive.

St. Louis and Atlanta for me, I have been to Raleigh but it has been about 6 years or so, don't recall the traffic.

I thought Raliegh was a lot worse than ATL.

Never been to Raliegh, but ATL is horrible.
